Fiscally Fit – 5 Ways to Cut Back on Spending
1) Advertise for free. Take advantage of social media, blog, attend networking events, use free email marketing software systems, help with local events to gain name recognition (host workshops, be a venue, a meeting place, etc.), and get involved with the local press.
2) Buy recycled printer cartridges. Try and buy reused things in general. Look for large companies that are relocated – they often offer free office supplies like used binders, staples, and filing cabinets that they want to get rid of.
3) Clean up your mailing list. Avoid the extra cost of mailing people you don’t need to mail. The Postal Service will clean up your list free of charge.
4) When hiring an attorney, ask to have a written fee agreement. Avoid unexpected fees by having a written agreement of the fees you will have to pay.
5) Hire an intern. They are there mainly for experience. Since they’re starting out, they usually don’t cost a lot and they can do the work that you don’t have time to do.
